The ICT 4 Life ActiveBook may be hosted on a school-based VLE.

Please be aware of the following restrictions:

1. The program operates in Quickstart mode when online.
2. You should restrict access to authenticated school users only.
3. The package will be approximately 466MB when created.
   You may need to increase the maximum upload size that your VLE permits. Please review your VLE documentation, and/or online support forums if this is the case.
4. The large movies may cause congestion when accessed remotely. (you may wish to replace these movie files with substitute files).

Follow the steps below to prepare your ICT 4 Life ActiveBook for online (VLE) deployment:

• Download the package support file: (> click here <)
  
• Perform an adminstrative installation of the ActiveTeach
  - extracts the files required from the CD-ROM to a new folder.
  
• Extract the ZIP file into the 'ActiveTeach 1' directory
  - overwrites older files and adds new files that are required.
  
• Execute the 1_Prepare_VLE.bat file.
  - moves files according to online requirements.
  - deletes files that are redundant in this VLE package.
  
• Zip the content of the ActiveTeach 1 directory
  - creates the uploadable package for your VLE.

Note: some users may find that the ZIP file must be created using NO compression - this will require a compression utility capable of such settings, e.g. WinZip. This will avoid timeouts due to extended decompression times on particularly large resource files.
